Alpha Motors shows new SuperWolf EV crew cab truck design

First off, I like Alpha Motors' designs and have posted about each new model that is based on the one EV platform -- which is smart for a start-up. But that's the rub as they say. Another website contacted Alpha Motors for more information and got no response. Evidently all these nifty designs are (very good) digital representations at this point. No physical models have been made supposedly. I hope that whatever the problem is, that Alpha gets it together and brings their designs to life and to market. Take the vehicle here...the new Alpha SuperWolf crew cab truck. It's based on the previously shown Wolf+ which can trace it's roots all the way back to the Ace coupe. The Superwolf has four full-sized doors and is shown with accessories from various aftermarket companies (see media release). Let's hope that Alpha gets the funding they need to makes these designs real or sell them to a company that can bring the various models to fruition. I would think that they could buy the equipment and tech "off the shelf." GM sells a 200-hp electric motor as a "crate" motor, so... For more information and a video, click on "read more" below. Let's all keep out fingers crossed.

Alpha Motors shows Wolf compact EV truck

Alpha Motors has shown other automakers how to utilize a vehicle platform with the new Wolf compact EV. Using these same EV underpinnings, Alpha has shown a four-door sedan-esque crossover thing, a two-door EV coupe, a van utility vehicle, and now the Wolf EV truck shown hefre. The specs remain about the same with changes in weight and aerodynamics, so expect similar performance results, like 250-275 miles of range. The truck is s two-seater with options like a bed cover with photo-voltaic panels to increase range. For more, check out the media info after the "read more" jump and the previous posts for the JAX, and the Ace Coupe. More to come...

Alpha Motors shows new JAX compact utility based on the Ace Coupe platform - Update

Alpha Motors is kinda on a roll. After recent intros of the ICON utility platform, the Ace Coupe and it's performance variant, Alpha now introduces the JAX electric-crossover utility vehicle. With rugged Mad-Max-esque styling, the JAX shares the Ace Coupe platform but with giant wheels, a roof rack, and mini doors for better rear access. No word on whether there will be some kind of jump seat either as standard or optional (the Ace Coupe is a two-seat vehicle). The basic specs are a 0 to 60 mph time of around 6-5 seconds (the performance Ace does it in about 4 seconds with dual motors and all-wheel drive) with a range expected to be close to 250 miles. These numbers will be different based on the increased weight of the vehicle and it's mods as well as those large wheels (Yes, wheel size, tread, and tire compound can affect a vehicle's electric range, not to mention ICE mpgs). Some reports have questioned whether Alpha will produce this vehicle due to it's appearance. Why not, I say, why not. It's rugged cute and there aren't vehicles on the road that look like the JAX. Okay, the grille on the JAX (see pic after the "read more" jump) looks like the original Bronco but that's not a bad thing. Let's hope Alpha Motors gets these vehicles in production. Check out the media release, additional pics, links, and intro video after the jump.

Update: The Alpha JAX site, says the vehicle will be a four-seater, with either dual motor all-wheel drive or single-motor rear-wheel drive. Prices will range from $38k to $48k. Oh and the batteries will be fast-charge capable.

Alpha Motor Corporation unveils the new Ace EV Coupe

it seems like another day, another new EV. Of course, that's far from true since the latest crop of new EVs have been in development sometimes for years. The fact that so many have running prototypes and mock ups to introduce says a lot about the electrified-future we are all going to live in. It also says a lot about legacy automakers and the game of catch-up they are going to need to play. It also means that some of these new automakers will be bought up by larger companies, but that's a discussion for another day.

What you see here is the new Ace coupe, an EV from Alpha Motor Corporation of Irvine, California. The Ace is a small EV with seating for 2 and a pair of jump seats for storage (14 cubic feet) and occasional riders (if Gov. Regs allow). Early specifications (after the media releases) expect a 0-60 mph time of under 6 seconds, rear-wheel drive, fast charging, and about 250 miles of range. 16- to 18-inch wheels will be available and premium sound will be standard.  All this may change by production which is expected in 2023. The overall look has Volkswagen hints like the early Golf/Rabbit and the side profile hints of the New Beetle. It's a nice look...very clean. No side marker lights, but they've got time. I'm sure other things will crop up. The Ace Coupe will spawn a number of vehicles including the compact Icon crossover/SUV. Smart move to use the first product for more like the Tesla Model S and X, etc. The interior has a minimalist Tesla look to it as well. I'm sure we'll be seeing more in the future, at least I hope so. Not every one needs a giant sedan or SUV battery-electric vehicle. so the Ace Coupe city car would be a nice addition to the list of available EVs.
